GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. is seeking an
Environmental Planner
with experience in environmental impact assessment, permitting, siting analysis, resiliency planning and related services to join our Ecology and Planning Practice in Western Massachusetts. The qualified individual must have experience in one or more of the following project types: renewable energy, flood protection, ecological restoration, climate resiliency and site development.

What You Will Be Doing
Preparing environmental impact reports.
Preparing GIS maps.
Preparing environmental and land use permit applications.
Coordinating with regulatory authorities.
Organizing and hosting community outreach and education events.
Presenting project information in public forums.
Assisting in field evaluations to support the above work.
GZA emphasizes a One Company environment; you may be asked to assist on projects outside of your primary responsibilities.
What You Will Be Bringing
Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management or related discipline. Master’s degree is preferred.
5+ years of experience in the environmental consulting or public service field.
Certification or working towards AICP, CFM or CEP certifications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare clear and concise letters, memoranda, technical reports, proposals, and figures.
Experience with the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act, National Environmental Policy Act and related wetlands, water quality and land use laws.
Strong ability to interpret and use site plans, topographic maps, aerial photographs, and other mapping resources.
Solid GIS skills.
Working knowledge of data collection methods (e.g., GPS).
