The aim is to uplift individuals and families by providing education, housing, employment, and tools to sustain progress. Responsibilities
Provide individual and group counseling services to students to promote educational performance, personal growth, and emotional well-being Develop ERMHS (Educationally Related Mental Health Services) counseling goals or collaborate with the ERMHS Clinical Supervisor to ensure goals are appropriate and measurable Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments for initial and triennial evaluations to support eligibility determinations for special education services Write clear, comprehensive psychological reports and present findings as part of the multidisciplinary team and IEP process Develop IEP mental health goals and objectives, implement counseling services, collect and monitor progress data, and report progress to IEP teams Participate in SST meetings to identify student needs, recommend interventions, and assist in decisions regarding special education referrals Support the development and implementation of FBAs and BIPs, and manifestation determinations as needed Provide collaborative consultation and documentation of results, including RTI support and recommendations for classroom adaptations Collaborate with Teachers, Education Specialists, Administrators, and other staff to design and support student programs with appropriate accommodations across diverse settings, including independent study and corrections-based environments Create and maintain a data collection system and document student progress to ensure compliance with IEP requirements Provide virtual and in-person services as appropriate across the assigned region Travel frequently to conduct assessments, provide counseling, and participate in SST and IEP meetings in various settings Utilize trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and restorative practices in all interactions Provide training and consultation to Five Keys staff on trauma-informed care, behavior intervention, restorative practices, and special education compliance Stay current with clinical and educational research and participate in professional development Adhere to ethical standards and California special education laws and regulations Support and implement Five Keys policies and procedures Complete all required records and documentation accurately and on time Demonstrate flexibility to meet the needs of students in nontraditional learning environments Other duties as assigned Knowledge and Skills
Willingness and ability to travel frequently within the assigned region to provide services Strong understanding of IDEA, AB 167/216, AB 2306, and California special education compliance Strong emotional intelligence and ability to build rapport with vulnerable youth and adults while maintaining professional boundaries Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Excellent oral and written communication skills to convey complex psychological concepts Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and adapt to dynamic environments Advanced problem-solving skills and tactful communication Proficiency with Zoom, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Excel, SEIS, and databases for assessments, counseling, documentation, and virtual meetings Commitment to maintaining professionalism and ethical standards Education and Work Experience
A master's degree or higher in School Psychology or a related field preferred Valid California PPS credential authorizing service as a School Psychologist, or a license as a Clinical or Educational Psychologist Experience with understanding educational barriers affecting students in the program Physical Requirements
Must wear provided PPE when needed and adhere to safety guidelines Frequent speaking and listening; long periods of desk work Lifting up to 25 lbs; bending, reaching, and standing as part of daily tasks Additional Requirements
Satisfactory Live Scan background check Jail clearance for positions in county jails or probation locations Proof of clear TB results (dated within 60 days prior to hire) Work Environment
Moderate to high noise level; environment varies by site Travel to correctional facilities and community sites; potential safety considerations Growth Opportunities
