Responsibilities
A Senior Tax Accountant is an essential member of a firm's tax team, bridging the gap between entry-level accountants and firm leadership
Tax Preparation and Review: Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts. Review the work of staff-level accountants to ensure accuracy and compliance
Become Research and Planning: Stay up-to-date on changes in tax law and regulations, conduct research to provide strategic tax planning advice for clients. Analyze complex financial data to identify potential tax savings and risks
Audit and Compliance: Represent clients during federal and state tax audits, prepare all necessary documentation and respond to inquiries from tax authorities
Client and Team Management: Act as a primary point of contact for clients, manage their accounts and build strong relationships. Mentor and train junior staff, delegating tasks and providing guidance
Financial Reporting: Assist with financial reporting and other accounting tasks, ensuring records are in compliance with accounting standards and regulations
What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
CPA license is strongly preferred but not required
Strong communication and analytical skills
Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and a team player
Strong knowledge of accounting concepts
Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to make informed decisions and stay organized with a keen attention to detail
Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and work under pressure
High level of professionalism
Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information
Ability to adapt to specialized tax and accounting software
Leadership tendencies and some experience with training/coaching
