Who you are:
The Sous Chef is the second hand man to the Executive Chef. He/she must be able to take direction from the Executive Chef to understand and execute all menu items according to recipes. The Sous Chef must have a passion for cuisine and hospitality.
What You’ll Do
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prepare food for service to specification from proprietary recipes, e.g.chopping veg, butchering meat, making sauces, garnishes, etc.. Observe and distinguish product quality by smell, taste, and appearance. Cook in coordination with other cooks to ensure proper timing on tickets. Effectively communicate with the Executive Chef and other kitchen personnel. Be up to code with safety and food regulations.
What We Need From You
Must possess or be able to obtain Food Manager's Permit. Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a chef-driven restaurant. Have a passion for cuisine and hospitality. Be able to perform all essential job functions of the position. Effectively communicate in English with the Executive Chef and other kitchen personnel. Be dependable and punctual. Must be able to work nights and weekends. Must have experience at a high volume establishment. Fine dining experience is preferred
