The Florida Department of Health is seeking dedicated attorneys to join Prosecution Services Unit (PSU), the legal enforcement arm of the Division of Medical Quality Assurance. Your Specific Responsibilities
Initiation of Administrative Proceedings: Independently review case files, develop legal opinions, and prepare probable cause recommendations, including administrative complaints and closing orders. Board Presentations: Present cases before healthcare licensure boards across the State of Florida for final disciplinary action. Litigation: Represent the Department before the Division of Administrative Hearings, managing all aspects of litigation from trial preparation to post-hearing pleadings. Case Management: Oversee an inventory of cases, ensuring timely and effective resolution in compliance with statutory requirements. Collaboration: Respond to public records requests, inquiries from counsel, Respondents, members of the public and other agencies regarding ongoing cases.
