Controller

In this role, you'll manage the company's accounting and financial operations, collaborating with the CFO and executive team to analyze, report, and make recommendations regarding the company's financial health and compliance with laws and regulations. Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

Be a team player. Be positive. Be ready to make an impact. Accounting: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations. Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation. Collaborates with the CFO to ensure GL accounts are balanced Financial performance reporting: Establish (in coordination with executive team) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, metrics, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis. Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts Tax compliance: Ensure the company complies with tax laws and regulations. Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows Risk management: Manage the company's risk exposure. Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures Audit coordination: Coordinate the activities of external auditors and ensure executive team is informed of audit activities Accounting policies: Create, develop, and implement a system of accounting policies and procedures. Ensure KW staff are trained and consistently follow standardized processes. Accounting staff: Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity. Hire, train, coach, develop, and engage with accounting team members General: Collaborates with executive and HR leadership to communicate about and resolve payroll issues that impact team members Documents concisely, precisely, and accurately on all records or documents as indicated by policy. Maintains confidentiality of all employees, patients, clients, and company information Leads and/or participates in department and company meetings, and professional development activities. Ensure consistent and current knowledge of all accounting and finance laws and regulations. Understands HIPAA regulations and maintains confidentiality of all employees, company patients, and/or vendor information. Acknowledges understanding of the company’s HIPAA Privacy Policy and complies with all regulatory requirements including HIPAA, OSHAA, the Employee Handbook, and any other departmental or company policies and procedures. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field, a minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience, plus at least three years experience effectively leading and managing accounting, payroll, and/or finance staff. Other key qualifications include:

Must possess a minimum of 3 years’ effectively leading and managing accounting and/or payroll staff Must possess advanced proficiency and proficient use of all aspects of QuickBooks Prior experience in managing payroll and ensuring its accurate and timely processing Prior experience in creating and streamlining accounting processes Demonstrates an exemplary history of effective financial project management Demonstrates proficient understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis Demonstrates a working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting Demonstrates advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Demonstrates business acumen and financial prowess with an effective combination of collaboration, discretion, and professionalism. Provides a clear record of accomplishment in excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Demonstrates effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with a proven history in effective customer and inter-company communication. Demonstrates proficiency using, Paycor, ADP, or other similar payroll software Demonstrates effective knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to meet tight and often changing deadlines Demonstrates proficient organizational, time management and follow-up skills. Exhibits a positive attitude, a team-oriented approach, and a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with others to achieve departmental and company objectives. Demonstrates a desire and commitment to promote and share Katie’s Way mission, vision, values, and culture. Candidates with 5+ years of work experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager, professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant), Master of Business Degree (MBA) with a focus in accounting , prior experience working in a behavioral healthcare setting, and/or military service in finance, accounting, payroll, and/or other related fields are preferred.
