The FP&A Sr. Analyst reports directly to the Associate Director, School of Medicine Finance and works closely with the Director, School of Medicine Finance. The position serves as the Dean’s Office FP&A partner to multiple clinical departments and supports Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) services to enable department leaders and SOM leadership to make timely financial decisions and achieve desired results. The role supports the SOM’s annual budgeting process, quarterly forecast, variance analysis, and special projects including financial systems transformations. It analyzes actual vs plan reporting, tracks key clinical operational metrics, and develops forward-looking financial reports. The position provides consulting and strategic support to SOM clinical departments and Sr. leadership, guided by the Associate Director, School of Medicine Finance. Responsibilities

Support SOM-wide financial planning and reporting, including budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial planning. Analyze actual vs plan performance, explain drivers, and model forward-looking scenarios. Provide consulting and strategic insights to SOM clinical departments and senior leadership to guide resource allocation and strategic goals. Manage relationships with SOM departments and stakeholders through strategic planning analysis, trend analysis, and scenario planning. Contribute to quarterly reporting and publications that consolidate SOM’s financial performance and KPIs. Lead high-importance projects with significant impact on SOM and exercise judgment in selecting assumptions and following healthcare trends. Develop new metrics, reporting, and processes to improve decision support and process efficiencies. What It Takes to be Successful

Solid understanding of financial modeling and forecasting techniques with ability to build robust models, develop scenarios, and stress-test assumptions. Strong presentation skills; ability to translate complex data into executive-level materials. Deep knowledge of GAAP or GASB, finance policies, practices, and systems. Ability to gather and analyze information from multiple sources; strong written and verbal communication. Proficiency with spreadsheet and database tools to synthesize complex financial analyses and reports. Excellent interpersonal and consulting skills at all organizational levels; strong attention to detail and multi-tasking in a high-volume environment. Ability to adapt to changing priorities; healthcare experience is preferred; CPA/MBA preferred with focus on Finance, Accounting, Business, Statistics or related field; 10 years of experience with BA/BS or equivalent; 1–3 years in accounting and 3–5 years in FP&A; bilingual or additional language skills are a plus.
