Overview

The UCLA School of Law Immigrant Family Legal Clinic (ImmFam) seeks a Staff Attorney to begin in Fall 2025. The position is a two-year contract, intended for a bilingual attorney and open to recent law graduates, with the possibility of extension. ImmFam is a partnership between UCLA School of Law and the Los Angeles Unified School District. The clinic is located on the RFK campus (701 S. Catalina) in Koreatown/Pico Union and serves immigrant students at six RFK-campus public schools and their families. The Staff Attorney provides direct representation on immigration matters (including removal defense and humanitarian visas), offers legal consultations on a broader range of topics (workers\' rights, housing, public benefits, and criminal justice), and leads outreach and community education. The Staff Attorney collaborates with the Clinic Director and Senior Staff Attorney on docket development and advocacy projects and works with on-site staff and UCLA students. Responsibilities

Provide direct representation to RFK students and legal consultations to the RFK community. Serve as a resource for school administrators, teachers, and parents. Lead the clinic's outreach and community education initiatives. Collaborate with the Clinic Director and Senior Staff Attorney to develop and manage the docket and advocacy projects. Work with the on-site team (Office Manager/Legal Assistant, Senior Staff Attorney, Social Worker) and rotating UCLA students (law students, undergraduate interns, and a social work intern). Actual offers depend on factors including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications

Fluent reading, writing, and speaking ability in Spanish. (Required) Substantive knowledge and experience in immigration law. (Required) Experience and interest in working with low-wage workers, immigrants, and/or other vulnerable populations. (Required) Familiarity with workers\' rights, housing, public benefits, and/or crim-imm. (Preferred) Ability to work independently, organize workload, establish a productive work environment, and follow through with minimal supervision. (Required) Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including members of immigrant communities. (Preferred) Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under heavy workload, distractions, and deadlines. (Required) Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate and reach decisions and solutions. (Required) Ability to work in a busy, dynamic, and unconventional office setting shared by numerous people. (Required) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent from an accredited law school. (Required) Member in good standing of the State Bar of California (and maintain CE credits as required). (Required) Admitted to practice law in California. (Required) Special Conditions for Employment

Background check required; continued employment contingent on satisfactory results. Live Scan background check required prior to start of employment. Age requirement: 18 years or older to be eligible for hire. CANRA designation: The position is designated as a mandatory reporter for child abuse; employee must sign the required acknowledgement. Hybrid work ability on an as-needed basis, in coordination with Clinic staff, based on space availability. Ability to commute to the primary office at RFK Community School and to UCLA Law and other LAUSD sites as needed for program meetings and events. Schedule
