$115,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Kodiak Building Partners The Human Resources Compliance and Employee Relations Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing company-wide HR compliance. This role ensures that all HR practices align with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and promotes fair, respectful, and productive work environments across all locations. This individual will also lead and support cross-functional HR projects, including policy rollouts, audits, training initiatives, and process improvements. Strong project management skills are essential to coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic and growing organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance
Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations to ensure organizational compliance across nationwide operations.
Maintain and update employee handbooks, HR policies, and procedures.
Conduct regular HR audits and internal reviews of HR practices (e.g., I-9, FLSA classification, recordkeeping, EEO).
Serve as the subject matter expert on regulatory matters such as FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, OSHA, and emerging legislative changes.
Coordinate with Director of HR Operations and Legal on compliance-related concerns or investigations.
Lead compliance training and education programs for HR staff and leaders.
Policy & Documentation
Maintain accurate records of compliance initiatives, audit findings, and policy updates.
Develop and manage compliance calendars and systems to ensure timely completion of required actions (e.g., trainings, filings, certifications).
Project Management
Lead or support HR projects as needed, including M&A-focused efforts.
Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables; track progress and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
Ensure successful change management through collaboration, communication, and employee engagement.
Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
7+ years of experience in HR with a focus on compliance and / or employee relations.
Demonstrated experience managing HR-related projects from concept to completion.
Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices across multiple states.
Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
Location
This position is primarily on-site at our headquarters located at: 9780 Pyramid Court, Englewood, CO 80112
Regular in-person attendance is required
Monday through Thursday
Friday is an optional remote workday
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
Must be able to move between departments within the company facility
