Overview
Houston-based mid-size law firm seeking an Estate Planning and Probate Attorney. The successful candidate will handle a broad range of estate planning and probate matters, including drafting wills, trusts, and gift tax planning.
Base pay range $150,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive legal advice on estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters.
Draft, review, and revise estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives.
Represent clients in probate and trust administration proceedings, including preparation and filing of necessary court documents.
Engage in gift tax planning and other sophisticated estate planning techniques to minimize tax liabilities.
Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to develop comprehensive estate plans aligned with clients\' goals.
Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date on changes in estate planning and probate law to provide accurate advice.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service and regular communication.
Participate in business development activities to grow the firm\'s estate planning and probate practice.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Admission to the state bar in good standing.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in estate planning and probate, with emphasis on wills, trusts, and gift tax planning.
Knowledge of estate, gift, and income tax laws.
Excellent analytical, research, and drafting skills; strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
Proven track record of business development and client relationship management.
Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the state bar (preferred).
LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning (preferred).
