Overview
Position Title: Sr Executive Communications Consultant Department: Health Sciences | Administration Location: Meiling Hall (0281) Type: Regular | Schedule: 40 hours | Shift: First Shift Position Summary
Serves as key support and communications partner on the executive communications team for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. The Senior Executive Communications Consultant provides strategic communications leadership, vision and direction across all three mission areas and strategic business goals with a focus on securing national reputation and thought leadership opportunities that advance key strategic priorities and drive engagement and reputation with internal and external audiences. From research to planning and execution, this role establishes and implements tactics to reach short- and long-term goals and priorities to help the university and medical center achieve shared goals. Responsible for supporting the development, implementation and monitoring of internal and external communications plans and tactics. Strong writing and strategic message development, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment are essential. Communications responsibilities may include correspondence and enterprise-wide email distribution, print and web materials, event briefings, backgrounders, fact sheets, speeches, presentations and talking points. Works independently to execute key messages and themes as well as supporting evidence that advance the mission of the university and medical center for various constituencies. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or related field. Minimum of 5 years professional experience, preferably in journalism or strategic communications. Experience working with executives; experience in the health care industry is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as presentation and negotiation skills. Strong problem-solving abilities with demonstrated superior organizational skills. Ability to manage diverse projects; thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; adapts quickly to shifting priorities and continuous change. Demonstrates discretion regarding highly confidential matters; highly professional demeanor. Possesses superior organizational ability and willingness to adapt with shifting priorities; availability to work after-hours upon request. Other Information
