The Family Peer Professional works to integrate lived experience in their work supporting parents and caregivers with children involved in the system of care across Elkhart County. The Family Peer Professional Works To Provide

Information about formal and informal process and systems Encouragement and coaching with the goal of parents having their voice and perspective heard The Family Peer Professional accomplishes this through three types of activities: Supporting parents and caregivers with children involved with The SOURCE programs Maintaining and disseminating a comprehensive resource list of local services and supports for children and families Through outreach, engagement and empowerment groups, Parent Cafes, trainings and events Requirements For The Family Peer Professional

High School Diploma/GED required Must be a primary caregiver (biological parent, kinship caregiver, foster parent, adoptive parent of a child, youth or young adult) who has received or is receiving behavioral health services and has experience navigating and advocating within child-serving systems such as mental health, juvenile justice, education or child welfare Must have a valid driver's license and provide proof of insurance
