Overview
Senior Manager, Maintenance Contracts and Administration — Work Location: Randall’s Island. This position is eligible for telework which is currently one day per week. Earnings potential posted in description; overtime eligibility: Not eligible for paid overtime in accordance with FLSA. Responsibilities
The Senior Manager, Maintenance Service Contracts, is responsible for the oversight and administration of all service contracts supporting the Authority’s nine operating facilities and Randall’s Island Operations for services beyond the scope of in-house maintenance staff. Provide leadership and direction to a team of contract managers and contracted personnel while managing multiple large-scale, critical projects simultaneously. Ensure strict compliance with contract provisions, procurement regulations, and financial procedures, while safeguarding uninterrupted facility operations. Demonstrate expert judgment under pressure, balance multiple competing priorities, and be 24/7 responsive to emergencies. Drive performance and accountability across a diverse vendor and project portfolio through strong supervisory skills, technical contract administration expertise. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in project management, Planning, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of professional experience administering or coordinating maintenance or construction contracts, or large-scale engineering projects. At least 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience, including staff development, workload management, and performance evaluations. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience managing service contracts (preferably 50+ contracts at a time or equivalent complexity); vendor/contractor oversight including performance evaluations, compliance monitoring, and issue resolution; budgeting, forecasting, and financial reconciliations for large-scale contracts or projects; emergency response coordination for facilities operations; cross-departmental collaboration with Engineering, Safety, Procurement, and Legal teams. Unrestricted driver’s license valid in the State of New York. Proven ability to manage a diverse team of project managers and contracted personnel. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; budgeting, contract management, and project administration within maintenance service contracts. Knowledge of research methods, contract law, procurement regulations, and sound cost accounting principles. Strong analytical skills, ability to prepare and present reports, and perform value analyses. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining accuracy and quality. Excellent interpersonal skills for working with internal teams and external vendors. Ability to maintain detailed contract files, budget data, and ensure compliance with established policies and regulations. Capable of applying skills to complex, facility-wide problems and emergency situations. Preferred Qualifications
Public sector or government contracting experience. Knowledge of NYC Fire Department rules and regulations as they relate to maintenance contracts. Familiarity with government contracting principles, ethical standards, and MBE/WBE goals relevant to MTA contracts. How To Apply
