As a Cosmetic Sales colleague, also known as a Beauty Advisor, your focus is to support the Beauty needs of our customers to drive sales. You are a product educator and beauty enthusiast who specializes in making customers feel beautiful and confident. You build a client base and nurture relationships to meet sales goals, embracing innovation with new selling ideas, and communicating with customers virtually and via phone. Greet customers in a friendly and helpful manner Use product knowledge to guide customers based on their wants, features, and choices Build relationships by introducing customers to beauty products and identifying needs Demonstrate makeup application and proper use of beauty products Maintain display, organization, storage, and restocking of inventory Engage with our clientele program to connect with customers, achieve sales goals, promote promotions and launches, and enroll in rewards Participate in pre-selling and sales-boosting events Stay current with training through Macy’s educational resources, including vendor trainings Merchandise new arrivals, process damages, testers, and returns to vendors Use point-of-sale technology to assist in selling and fulfilling orders Follow hygiene standards and asset protection procedures Foster an environment of acceptance and respect with colleagues, customers, and communities Skills You Will Need
Product knowledge : Understanding beauty products and ability to guide customers Communication : Comfortable communicating with customers virtually, by phone, and in person Sales : Ability to build relationships, achieve sales goals, and participate in events Technology : Use POS tech to sell and fulfill orders Continuous learning : Self-driven to keep up with product knowledge and trends Makeup application : Ability to apply makeup on customers to demonstrate use Subject Matter Expertise : Knowledge of vendor lines and beauty trends Interpersonal Skills : Strong ability to work with colleagues and customers Collaboration : Work with the Beauty team to drive sales and customer experience Who You Are
Passion and a business-minded attitude for a performance-based setting Ability to resolve customer problems constructively and proactively Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends Enthusiasm for the beauty industry and outstanding customer care Sound judgment in ambiguous situations; flexible availability Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality At least 1 year of customer service or selling experience required Cosmetic or fragrance sales experience is a plus Essential Physical Requirements You Will Perform
Prolonged standing/walking (at least two consecutive hours) Frequent use of computers and handheld devices Reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, color vision Lifting and moving items up to 25 lbs About Us
