Overview
Admission Counselor I - Senior Admissions Counselor II (Oklahoma City, OK)
Remote position based in the Oklahoma City metro area. Serve, promote, and represent the University by being the primary point of contact for prospective students, families, and counselors. Discuss policies/procedures required for admission, housing, scholarships/financial aid with prospective students, families, and counselors. Proactively anticipate student needs and respond appropriately. Conduct trend analysis for an assigned territory; formulate action plans based on analysis. Work with recruitment staff and leadership to integrate results of analysis and planning into the University\'s overall enrollment plan. Demonstrate self-direction, creativity, and strategic thinking in prospect development, yield enhancement activities, information services, and problem resolution. Determine strategies for effective outreach for the assigned territory; develop and initiate communication/activities to accomplish enrollment goals, including outreach via email, telephone, and visits. Make presentations to large and small groups of prospective students/families, on and off-campus, about the opportunities available at OSU. Assist with daily office operations including answering phones, responding to emails, greeting, and providing counsel to prospective students, families, and guests to meet customer service goals. Participate in the development and execution of on and off-campus recruitment, conversion, and yield activities/events to market Oklahoma State University to prospective freshman and transfer students. Maintain a personalized public presence in a wide range of environments such as high schools, college fairs, and community locations.
The following are important physical and logistical requirements of the role: travel (in-state and out-of-state) away from campus and/or regional office multiple times per month, with durations ranging from 1 to 12 days. Overnight stays are often required. This position may require lifting up to 45 pounds.
Note: This position is fully remote in the Oklahoma City, OK, area with the exception of consistent visits to area high schools and college fairs, meetings with prospective student families, designated on-campus events in Stillwater, and any other duties requiring in-person attendance. Any offer is contingent upon approval by University Human Resources in consideration of OSU policies, labor laws, and suitability to the work of the position/department. If remote work is approved, an on-campus office may not be provided.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor\'s (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
One year related experience
Valid Driver\'s License
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge: strong written and verbal communication, technical skills, ability to lift 45 lbs, and familiarity with MS applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree
Five years related experience; two years as an Oklahoma State University admissions counselor
