First Baptist Church Geraldine is prayerfully seeking a full-time Associate Pastor of Worship to help lead our church in Christ-centered, gospel-rich worship and to serve alongside our pastoral team in shepherding the church. Located in the heart of Sand Mountain in Geraldine, Alabama, FBC Geraldine is a healthy, multi-generational church of about 215 people in a town of roughly 900. We treasure God’s Word, love to sing, and are committed to making disciples in our community and to the ends of the earth. Our worship style is best described as blended. Each week, our 30-voice choir and instrumentalists help lead the congregation in both historic hymns and modern hymns. We want to prioritize congregational singing with a rich diet of biblically faithful, gospel-rich songs. We are an expositional preaching church with a high view of the Word of God. We’re seeking someone who is musically gifted, doctrinally sound, pastorally minded, and administratively capable—a man who can not only lead in worship but, depending on calling and giftedness, serve in a broader pastoral capacity. Basic Function

The Associate Pastor of Worship shall serve the Lord and First Baptist Church Geraldine as a member of the Ministerial Staff. He shall be responsible to the Congregation, its Pastor, and the Personnel Committee, working with all church committees in accomplishing the following duties and responsibilities. General Duties and Responsibilities

Worship Ministry

Assist the Pastor with weekly worship planning. Lead the congregation in gospel-rich, Christ-exalting singing. Oversee the adult choir and instrumentalists, selecting appropriate music and guiding them to lead the congregation well. Oversee the church’s music ministries, raising up leaders within the congregation. Provide supervision and coordination for all music personnel and volunteers. Oversee and continually improve worship technology (sound, livestream, media, projection), training and equipping volunteers to serve with excellence. Pastoral Ministry (as appropriate)

Assist the Pastor in preaching and teaching as needed. Provide pastoral care to the congregation, including visitation, counseling, and prayer. Assist with weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other pastoral duties. Work with other staff members to strengthen discipleship, outreach, and ministry systems within the church. Administrative & Facility Oversight

Work with the Pastor, staff, and committees in the administration of the church. Provide administrative support and organizational leadership as needed for church-wide events, ministries, and operations. Relationships

The immediate ministerial supervisor of the Associate Pastor of Worship is the Pastor. It is essential that this role communicate regularly with other staff members to ensure effective and unified ministry across the church. Compensation

The position will be full-time and benefitted position. Salary will be determined based on education and experience. Minimum Qualifications

Proficiency in leading congregational worship. Familiarity with worship technology (sound, livestream, media) and a willingness to continually grow in technical and administrative oversight. A heart for shepherding the church through preaching, teaching, and personal ministry (as applicable). Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to assist in church operations. Agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000). All Church Ministerial Staff must pass a criminal and financial background check before beginning work.
