Worship Leader Northtown Trinity Church

Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Des Moines, Iowa, United States

Save Job

We are a 1689 Reformed Baptist congregation committed to biblical preaching, gospel-centered worship, meaningful community, and Spirit-empowered mission. We believe in reaching as many people as possible with the hope of the gospel. The Worship Leader will oversee the musical and liturgical elements of our corporate worship gatherings. This role is pastoral in nature—helping to shape the hearts of our people through Scripture-saturated, Christ-exalting worship that reflects both theological depth and cultural accessibility. Key Responsibilities: Plan and Lead Worship Services: Work with the Lead Pastor to craft gospel-shaped worship gatherings that reflect the themes of the sermon text and the rhythms of the church calendar. Music Leadership: Select songs that are biblically faithful, theologically rich, and singable. Lead congregational singing with guitar, piano, or another lead instrument. Train and develop volunteer musicians and vocalists. Team Development: Build a healthy worship team culture marked by humility, excellence, and servant-heartedness. Schedule and lead rehearsals. Provide mentorship to musicians and foster musical growth. Liturgical Planning: Assist in shaping service elements such as calls to worship, confessions, Scripture readings, and prayers to ensure theological coherence and congregational participation. Technical Oversight: Collaborate with volunteers to ensure excellence in sound, slides, livestream, and other tech components necessary for worship. Pastoral Presence: Be visibly engaged in the life of the church beyond music—discipling others, participating in community life, and supporting the broader mission of Northtown Trinity. Qualifications: A growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ. Agreement with the doctrinal convictions of Northtown Trinity, including Reformed Baptist theology and covenantal ecclesiology. Musical proficiency (vocals and at least one lead instrument). A heart for shepherding and discipling through worship. Strong communication and organizational skills. Experience in leading worship in a local church context preferred. Willingness to grow in theological and pastoral leadership. Compensation: This is a part-time/stipend position with Opportunity for expanded hours and responsibilities as the church grows. To apply, emailinfo@northtowntrinity.org.
