Handle Immigration Clinic removal defense and USCIS cases. Provide support for the La Linterna pediatric medical-legal clinic jointly sponsored by the Immigration Clinic, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), and AltaMed. Represent clients before USCIS, immigration courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, U.S. District Courts, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Contribute to trauma‑informed services at La Linterna, including medical care, psychological care, case management, and legal services for vulnerable children impacted by immigration stresses. Manage a personal docket and collaborate with co-directors, other staff attorneys, and law students in the Immigration Clinic. Work under the supervision of the co-directors and be based in the Immigration Clinic’s office on USC’s University Park Campus, with La Linterna clinic days at AltaMed or CHLA facilities. Handle common matters including removal defense, asylum, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) applications (including state court and USCIS components), and U‑visa-type work. Qualifications
J.D. degree Admittance to and active California Bar license 1 year of experience practicing immigration law Experience representing clients before USCIS and/or the immigration courts Strong case management skills Strong interviewing and evaluation skills Strong writing skills Strong organizational skills Ability to work independently Fluency in Spanish Experience with SIJS applications Experience representing clients before the Superior Court (Family Law and / Probate divisions) Benefits and Additional Information
The annual base salary range is
