The Shredder Manager (SM) reports directly to the General Manager. They oversee production, maintenance, and quality control for the shredding department. Responsibilities include assigning daily duties to equipment operators, pickers, and cleaners, and assisting various managers with optimizing plant operations. Ensures a safe work environment and trains employees on safety procedures. This position aims for excellence in shredder production, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency to reduce errors and increase profits. Salary Range

$120,000 to $130,000 annually. Essential Functions

Environmental and Safety : Ensures safety practices, creates SOPs, conducts training, and monitors safety programs. Operational Performance : Leads department employees, manages schedules, and participates in the Shredder Committee. Equipment & Maintenance : Coordinates repairs, plans upgrades, manages inventory. Inventory & Quality Control : Ensures compliance, implements quality programs, manages material specifications. Budgeting & Forecasting : Tracks production, reduces costs, and implements operational goals. Administrative Management : Manages staff levels, performance reviews, and hiring processes. Special Projects : Performs additional duties as assigned. Internal Control Responsibilities

Supports internal controls, communicates issues, and suggests policy improvements. Supervisory Responsibility

Directly supervises Shredder Operations employees across multiple shifts. Job Conditions

Exposure to weather, hazards from heavy equipment, may require overtime and handling multiple issues under pressure. Physical Activities

Ability to sit, stand, walk for long hours, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repairs with dexterity. Visual acuity required. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; 5-10 years manufacturing experience; 2-5 years managerial experience; mechanical aptitude; union environment experience is a plus. Valid driver’s license required. Bilingual in Spanish helpful but not necessary. Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook. Experience with continuous improvement, managing budgets, and implementing new technologies preferred.
