Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon Opportunity
VHMC/Valleywise Health Medical Center: Phoenix, Arizona District Medical Group (DMG), one of the largest multi-specialty medical groups in Metropolitan Phoenix, has an immediate practice opportunity for a Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon. The Surgery Department staffs Valleywise Health System (VHS) at Valleywise Health Medical Center (VHMC), a 250-bed academic community hospital and designated ACS and State of Arizona Level I Adult/Level II Pediatric Trauma/Level I Burn Center. VHMC is an urban teaching hospital with a fully accredited ACGME General Surgery Residency, with the Plastic Surgery Division accepting resident rotators from the Mayo Clinic. DMG is a faculty partner in the Creighton University Medical School educational alliance. Additionally, VHMC has approved plans and funding to build a new hospital in accordance with a voter approved bond. The new facility is scheduled for completion in June 2024. Responsibilities Assist in developing the clinical service line, providing inpatient and outpatient general plastic and reconstructive surgery services in the elective and emergent care settings, sharing call coverage, and teaching residents. Foster a team approach for patient management. Participate in collaborative research activities and in developing and growing plastic surgery services. Qualifications Must have completed Plastic Surgery residency training, and be board certified or eligible. Previous faculty experience in an academic environment is preferred. Comfortable managing the full range of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery patients. Experience with Maxillofacial Trauma and Microvascular surgery is a plus, but not an absolute requirement. Employment and Practice Details Position to assist in developing the clinical service line at VHMC/DMG. The candidate will provide inpatient and outpatient services in both elective and emergent settings, share call coverage, and teach residents.
