Overview Join our team at Strategic Sight Consulting LLC for an opportunity as an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Project Engineer experienced with test and integration of electromechanical components and subassemblies. The candidate will perform test operations on UAS and payloads according to customer requirements, with opportunities to demonstrate attention to detail, acute observation skills, analytical and mechanical skills, and an understanding of good manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities

Interface between Project Management, Design, and Production Teams.

Interface between customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders across the community of interest.

Apply logistical, electrical, mechanical, and technical experience to perform aircraft system repairs and document work performed.

Apply knowledge of aircraft assembly and recommend improvements to the manufacturing process.

Maintain pace with the rapidly evolving UAS public sector and identify new commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom devices for test consideration.

Align, fit, and assemble component parts using precision tools, calibrated hand tools, and power tools. Install electromechanical and electronic parts using precision tools, calibrated hand tools, and power tools.

Requirements

United States citizenship.

Active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI.

Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

A minimum of 7 years of experience in the same or similar field.

Experience developing and tailoring System Engineering processes based on cost, schedule, and risk tolerance.

Proficient understanding of using engineering tools to document and manage project requirements.

Develop system and subsystem-level requirements and define system and subsystem interfaces.

Develop requirements verification traceability matrix (RVTM) and supporting verification analysis and testing.

Translate requirements across a multi-disciplinary team.

Ability to work within tight timelines with high-quality output and adapt to changing mission requirements.

Exemplary written and verbal communication skills; ability to identify and prioritize customer requirements.

Commitment to collaborating with all constituent groups and owners of work.

Attention to detail with the ability to manage projects from concept through launch with minimal supervision.

Proven critical thinker who makes appropriate decisions and finds solutions.

Desired Qualifications

Background in image and signal processing, including algorithm design and implementation.

Experience with open source and commercial software suites for UAS, simulation, and engineering (e.g., Mission Planner, MATLAB, SolidWorks, Ansys).
