Job Description
Senior Electrical (RF) Engineer
Tampa, Florida
Join our team at Strategic Sight Consulting LLC for an opportunity as an RF Engineer conducting research, technical analysis, and working exclusively with wireless networks and devices that use radio waves.
To ensure success as an RF engineer, you should have 10+ years of experience in the design, creation, analysis, and troubleshooting of custom and commercial RF circuits. Must possess senior‑level experience using bench test equipment, such as a multimeter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, and oscilloscopes, to test and record operational parameters for unique circuits. Perform all phases of reengineering unique hardware to identify design, functional characteristics, and origins. Proficient in schematic derivation, MATLAB and LabVIEW, and able to work with fellow engineering disciplines to solve problems.
Required: TS/SCI Security Clearance
Responsibilities and Background
Perform detailed, high‑level analysis of custom and commercial circuitry. Collect operational measurements and other performance parameters on systems and components.
Develop test concepts and test procedures for RF and Environmental testing.
Experience operating computer‑assisted engineering software to perform engineering tasks.
Proficient with antenna design from initial concept through prototype development, testing, and troubleshooting.
Expert knowledge in troubleshooting circuits to the component level. Analyze systems and sub‑systems, which may require experience replacing damaged components with solder.
Research, analyze, and draft technical reports and white papers for internal and external audiences.
Perform analysis and reverse engineering of electronics and circuit schematics.
Develop technical reports on electronic and circuitry analysis findings.
Build and dismantle Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
Perform a technical assessment of commercial‑off‑the‑shelf (COTS) products.
Research engineering databases and articles to assist with understanding the functionality of COTS and custom electronic products.
Requirements
Active Top Secret security clearance.
BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, Master or Ph.D. preferred.
Experience with tools/skill sets to include Software Defined Radios (RTL‑SDR, HackRF, or the like), RFID analysis, and Near‑field communication (NFC) analysis.
10+ years of experience in the design and testing of RF components.
Experience with RF circuitry simulation, network analysis, and predictive modeling.
Knowledge of Transmitter and Receiver designs.
Experience with Spread Spectrum‑related technologies - like OFDM, WCDMA, and LORA.
Some experience in Assembly Language, C/C++ programming, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, C/C++, and basic scripting.
In‑depth understanding of antennas and their implementation on transmitters and receivers.
Proven ability to work within tight timelines with high‑quality output.
Sincere commitment to working collaboratively with all constituent groups (members, staff, etc.).
Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proven critical thinker who makes appropriate decisions and finds solutions quickly.
Extreme attention to detail; takes pride in and ownership of work and can manage projects from concept through launch with little supervision.
