Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer - Networking Event with AECOM – New York City AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in New York, NY October 15-17. This is a great opportunity to learn about career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026. The event includes a networking mixer and on-site interviews for early career opportunities.

Responsibilities

Builds analytic and design skills.

Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, final working drawings and Geotechnical reports under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

Performs Geotechnical investigations, collecting and describing soil/rock samples in the field.

Creates soil profiles based on data collected during subsurface investigations.

Uses computer software for solving basic engineering problems including foundation, retaining wall and shoring design, slope stability and seepage analysis, etc.

Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering.

Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering.

EIT.
