Software Engineer II

to join our NGP team. In this role, you will help unlock Built\'s largest revenue opportunities by working with other talented engineers to deliver features in a sustainable, scalable way. The team develops products that enable seamless connections between internal and external systems, empowering users to create customized data pipelines by linking various products and services as needed. You will create new or extend existing React micro frontends, Node product APIs, data pipelines in Python, and services backed by MySQL or DynamoDB as we shift toward an event-driven architecture. Outside of standard sprint cadence meetings (10% of your time), the majority of your time will be spent in code and collaboration with your team. You should feel comfortable taking ownership of your code, monitoring performance, writing documentation, and upholding high standards. Responsibilities

: Work on a team implementing practical solutions for large-scale problems, and address everyday quality-of-life issues to support our next-generation platform (iPaaS) for building integrations with customer systems Develop in a full-stack software system including backend systems (Python, AWS), web applications (React Js), REST APIs, and microservices Write tests for newly implemented code to maintain product integrity Ensure code quality, organization, and automation in our code bases Participate in code reviews Estimate task time based on project requirements Collaborate with team members, designers, and product managers to provide end-to-end solutions Contribute to major frontend and backend features used by customers daily Develop new features and enhance existing features in core domains, with knowledge of Generative and Agentic AI considered a plus Qualifications 3+ years of experience building customer-facing React applications, ideally with TypeScript Experience building production backend APIs supporting customer-facing features Full-stack development preferred; mastery of frontend with the desire to achieve full-stack competency is acceptable Strong focus on building quality, testable code with automation; proactive improvement of code quality Adept at troubleshooting across websites, application servers, networks, and databases Customer-focused mindset (internal and external) High ownership and accountability of delivery and work product Experience with refactoring initiatives or contributing to legacy codebases is a plus Experience in a growing company, startup, or growth-stage environment Frontend stack: React, Redux, TypeScript, Jest, Enzyme, Selenium Backend/services: Python, Docker, AWS APIs: Node.js with Express and TypeScript Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS) Commitment to quality and safety in the codebase Salary and Benefits Built\'s salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 USD per year. The pay range is designed to accommodate upward mobility in the role and reflects a range across proficiency levels. Salary is one component of Built\'s total compensation package, which also includes equity, comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage, unlimited PTO, and other benefits.
