Information System Security Officer (ISSO)

This role works closely with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to propose, coordinate, implement, and enforce information system security policies, standards and methodologies. Implement security configurations for operating systems and network devices in accordance with approved Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). Collaborate to define and implement cybersecurity requirements for managed systems and software. Conduct RMF control assessments, identify corrective actions, and sustain RMF compliance. Job Duties
Perform vulnerability assessments using ACAS, STIGs, and SCAP. Perform security control continuous monitoring, security audits, risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies for DoD information systems. Assist with the assessment and authorization (A&A) of hosted computing environments. Conduct cybersecurity site audits to verify architecture analysis, cybersecurity requirements and controls, verify mitigation actions, and assist the ISSM with final ATO/ATC approval. Interface with end users to discuss IT, data management and collaboration tools, understanding benefits. Ensure software, hardware and firmware comply with security configuration guidelines. Coordinate changes or modifications with the ISSM and SCAR/SCA; initiate protective or corrective measures with the ISSM; report security incidents or vulnerabilities to the ISSM. Essential Qualifications
2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 0 years with a Master's; or High School Diploma/equivalent with 6 years of relevant experience. Experience planning and implementing network layouts of varying classifications in SCIF/SAPF spaces. Ability to coordinate and plan IT requirements across multiple Enterprise, MAJCOM, and agency partners. Familiarity with ICD/ICS 705 Standards related to networks. DoD 8570.01-M (IAM Level I - Security+) required; must meet position and certification requirements for IA Technician Level II per DoD Directive 8570.01-M. Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to gain SAP/SAR. Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a COMSEC Responsible Officer or familiarity with safeguarding COMSEC. Physical Requirements
May require working in an office or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders, tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range is $72,181.00/yr – $100,000.00/yr. Anticipated Salary Range: $72,181.00 – $100,000.00. This range is provided as a good-faith estimate based on role location, responsibilities, and qualifications. Actual pay will be based on skills and experience. Security Clearance: TS/SCI.
