The Okmulgee plant makes Gellan and Xanthan Gum for use in food and pharmaceutical products. As a process engineer you will be responsible for collaborating with teams to identify and implement process improvements that result in higher throughput, improved efficiencies, recognizable cost savings, and more consistent product quality. This is an onsite role. No Agencies Please! Responsibilities Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance throughput, efficiency, cost savings, and product quality. Collaborate with Engineering, Plant Operations, and Innovation to contribute to developing and advancing processes for the new plant. Contribute to developing, reviewing, and maintaining process engineering documentation, including mass and energy balances, PFDs, P & IDs, and process descriptions. Support the validation of third-party calculations for equipment specification to ensure process safety. Participate in the start-up of new systems and assist in training operating personnel. Collaborate with the engineering team to monitor and oversee basic and detailed designs, ensuring compliance with standards, safety, and environmental requirements. Engage with suppliers to evaluate new equipment and review technical proposals. Assist in conducting risk assessments such as HAZOP and contribute to food safety assessments (cGMP) for projects. Promote a safe working environment and adhere to safety, environmental, and quality standards. Follow company safety and environmental standards and contribute to their implementation. Assist in risk classification and prioritization related to Process Safety Management (PSM). Be open to travel as required to support trials and projects across different sites and vendors. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related field and 1-3 years of experience or internship in process engineering or related field. Basic knowledge of PSM/HAZOP studies Knowledge of unit operations, process design, M&E balance, and process data analysis Familiar with Autocad, MS Project, Excel Knowledge of the food industry Basic understanding of process optimization and engineering principles. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges. Seniority level
