Role As a
Principal Developer I
on the IT Service Activation (ITSA) team, you will be responsible for engineering activities that maintain and enhance the company\'s telecommunications and signal processing hardware, software and electrical systems. You will work with technical operations staff on system design and configuration, and with design teams to advise team leaders.
What You’ll Bring to Spectrum Required Qualifications
Experience:
IT work experience designing/configuring systems/applications in development (RESTful service development, micro services, Spring Boot) – 8+ years
IT work experience with relational databases (SQL based) – 6+ years
Education:
BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of micro-services architecture
Experience working in Telecommunications industry
Technology agnostic and experience with multiple technology stacks
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Developer Professional Certification
Technical Skills:
Advanced knowledge of OOP and prototypal inheritance
Advanced working knowledge of Spring framework (Spring Boot)
Advanced knowledge of language-based programming (e.g., Java 8)
Advanced knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and shell scripting
Advanced knowledge of RESTful and SOAP web services
Advanced knowledge of Tomcat server
Advanced knowledge of unit testing frameworks and CI tools
Advanced knowledge of Maven
Advanced knowledge of Git
Advanced knowledge in network design, architecture, protocols and topology
Advanced knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI model
Advanced knowledge of network devices and basic network appliances
Advanced knowledge of network design software (e.g., Visio)
Knowledge of at least two application server platforms (WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat, JBOSS, etc.)
Knowledge of at least three development languages (Java 8, JavaScript, C/C++, Python, etc.)
Knowledge of at least three development or test automation tools (ANT, Maven, Jenkins, JUnit, JMeter, etc.)
Advanced knowledge of Oracle COTs or UIM Core Product APIs and related tooling
Skills:
Basic knowledge of OSS/BSS infrastructure technologies and concepts
Abilities:
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Ability to perform duties in a fast-paced environment and learn new technology quickly
Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to demonstrate lateral thinking to solve complex technical problems
Ability to adapt to a dynamic technological environment and learn new technology quickly
Travel & Schedule:
Office Environment
