Overview
Project Engineer I based in City of Industry, CA. You will be part of the plant engineering team and be responsible for supporting strategic, operational, and policy-related aspects of the plant, with a focus on safety, quality, performance, management, and organizational objectives. You will be responsible for multiple capital projects within the plant, overseeing technical execution, timeline management, and financial oversight for each project.
Job Responsibilities
Project execution of current Processing, Packaging, Building and Utility projects
Ensuring all Engineering work meets state and company safety policies
Work with Engineering Manager to align on project priorities
Work with CAPEX analyst to manage the capital forecast and budget for each project
Create, design and evaluate initial call for tender documents with the Engineering Manager
Work with Regional Engineering teams during bidding processes and technical alignment
Work with the CAPEX procurement team to align on priorities and contract negotiations
Travel is required occasionally for training or plant projects (approx. 10%)
Able to lead in resolution of technical downtime
The base compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000 base salary, commensurate with experience. About You Job Qualifications:
Experience and working knowledge in:
Integrated automation and controls technology
High speed packaging systems design
Dairy process engineering and PMO, 3A standards
Plant based process engineering
Manufacturing plant utility systems (electrical, steam, glycol, ammonia, compressed air)
Must be organized and self-disciplined to accommodate the management of concurrent projects
Excellent conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekend or late shifts, as needed to complete projects and maintain business continuity
Experience and Education Requirement:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or relevant degree from an accredited college or university
3 to 5 years of experience
3 years of relevant Engineering experience required, preferably in CPG beverage/food manufacturing
Project Management PMP a plus
PLC / Automation background a plus
Knowledge in lean manufacturing practices and programs a plus
