Position Summary

The Deposit Operations Specialist performs essential tasks and duties related to the day-to-day back-office operations of the bank. As well as handle functions that have regulatory, monetary, and potential reputational risk impact. Functions are time sensitive and must be adhered to by means of policy and procedure. The functions include, but are not limited to, maintaining excellent internal and external customer service, reconciling various general ledgers, and monitoring and processing items related to the Deposit Operations of the Bank. Principal Duties And Responsibilities

Responsible for monitoring and addressing all non-post, stop pay, positive pay credit backs, and NSF items on a daily basis. Ensures return checks are processed daily in order to avoid losses to the bank for any late return. Large item check review. Perform daily reconciliation of various general ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data and maintain necessary reconciliation documentation. Perform research and clearing of daily reconciliation items from correspondent bank. Be able to explain, understand, and clear the reconciled items, but no later than 30 days from the date the item appeared on the recon. Work with manager to maintain guidelines and procedures for the reconciling process. Research, monitor, and report outstanding items on reconciliations. Process ACH returns, pre-notes, NOCs on a daily basis thru the Premier system or Fed as needed. Report charge off accounts to third party consumer reporting agency. Process deposit and check adjustments. Responsible for processing and researching Reg. E disputes. Notify officers of large returned deposited items. Process chargeback items and mail customer advice and IRD’s. Review Positive Pay auto decision items and makes sure all requested changes are completed. Process and monitor ACH transactions, cash letters, chargeback notices, etc. Assist in the processing and research of ACH disputes. Assist in the processing of government reclamations and balance verification requests. Assist in obtaining Teller Dormant forms for dormant accounts that a transaction was processed. Responsible for logging and processing levies and freezes. Apprise Deposit Operations Manager about monetary risk related problems where there could be the expectation of a loss to a customer or to the Bank. Responsible for providing superior customer service via the telephone to internal customers. Ensure Track-IT tickets are worked and completed timely. Cross train in all the functions of the Deposit Operations Department. Responsible for providing back up to all other Deposit Operations Specialists. Other Responsibilities

Support and promote the Bank vision, mission and core values, organizational structure and policies and procedures. Must have excellent analysis, observation and decision-making skills. Highly focused, able to rapidly determine key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities, and ensure resources are properly aligned. Ability to work in high-pressure situations and a stressful atmosphere while remaining composed. A thorough understanding and application of all policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to the work of a Deposit Operations Specialist. Ability to operate in a team environment to accomplish shared goals. Requires excellent communication skills, good time management skills and the ability to initiate and embrace change. Ability to effectively manage time as related to daily tasks. Comply with federal and state regulations as well as all established Bank policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Education And Experience Requirements

A self-starting individual who possesses the following skills: High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 – 4 years of banking experience, preferably in the deposit operations area. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer service skills. Good organizational skills and strong judgment. Excellent PC skills, including word processing and spreadsheets via Microsoft Office products as well as custom applications and systems. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task.
