For more information about joining our team, please visit us at .Reports to: Deposit Operations Team LeadFLSA Status: Non-Exempt**Job Title**Deposit Operations Specialist**Job Summary**Assists the Deposit Operations department with customer service, research, and processing of customer accounts, with additional check processing responsibilities.**Responsibilities*** Responsible for the reconciliation, research, and clearing of reconciling items for internal accounts.* Performs customer research and makes corrections to transaction accounts.* Processes various types of exception checks reviews and deposits within required internal and governmental time frames.* Processes chargeback items, check reviews, domestic & foreign check collections, dormant account reviews, escheatments, officer action/ NSF decisioning, offsite research, stop pay reviews rejects and without entry claims.* Monitor and reconcile general ledgers.* General knowledge of banking rules and regulations and banking policies and procedures.* Effectively participate in a review of Check Processing’s procedures, focus on active engagement, and constructive feedback.* Assist with the overdraft email notifications & charge off process.* Process daily returns items check items within regulatory times frames.* Responsible for working on the daily positive pay scrubbing process as well as payee math and MICR testing.* Assist with various department related projects as needed.**Qualifications*** Good knowledge of banking operations.* Effective communication (both verbal and written) skills.* Ability to establish positive working relationships.* Proficiency in the use of PC software tools for reports, audits, and analysis as well as Microsoft Office including Word and Excel)* Strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.* Excellent organizational, decision making and problem-solving skills.* Positive attitude, maintaining a pleasant demeanor at all times.* Keyboarding skills of 40 to 50 wpm* Detail orientated and ability to multi-task* Must be able to sit for extended periods of time*The duties listed above are the essential functions, or fundamental duties within the job classification.
