Zurich North America is hiring a Business Systems Analyst III – Property in Schaumburg, IL, supporting our property business.
Responsibilities
Provides 2nd level production support for Large Property Underwriting application, troubleshooting issues, identifying training needs, and coordinating with the development team to resolve issues or create defect logs for upcoming releases.
Coordinates and leads activities with Product Owner and business stakeholders to gather detailed requirements through interviews, documentation, and facilitated working sessions for approved projects and enhancements. Monitors decisions and manages requirements documentation and communication.
Leads analysis of requirements to determine system potential and impact on other business units and systems; provides input to the development effort.
Creates process models based on business requirements to determine information and process completeness.
Provides customers with cost/benefit analysis, risk assessment, and scope definition of proposed requirements.
Guides users in building a business case, performs impact analysis, and supports application testing, implementation, and training activities throughout the process.
Leads individual or sub-project tasks affecting single or multiple business and IT departments.
Evaluates project impact through consultation with business, regulatory, IT management, development, QA, validation, and training teams.
Performs system configuration and integration testing to ensure original requirements are met, including functionality and performance.
Performs production deployment checkout testing during release deployment, as needed (minimum quarterly).
Manages work plans, timelines, and budgets; evaluates ROI and prioritizes projects; partners with stakeholders to identify necessary resources to meet objectives.
Performs business process modeling and re-engineering to determine information and process completeness.
Utilizes Unified Modeling Language for Use Cases, Class, and Sequence Diagrams based on product design documentation.
Mentors team members in technology, architecture, and delivery of applications.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Engineering with 8+ years IT experience OR High School Diploma or Equivalent with 10+ years IT experience AND process reengineering; LEAN/Six Sigma experience.
Experience with process modeling tools.
Insurance application system design/analysis experience.
Experience with use case development.
Experience with Rapid Application Development (RAD) tools/techniques.
Preferred
Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
Understanding of Zurich underwriting applications and Large Property underwriting workflow.
Commercial insurance experience (preferably Large Property).
Strong analytical and planning skills; ability to manage changing priorities.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Experience with change management tools/methodologies and testing scenarios execution.
Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP).
Advanced Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) skills and consulting experience.
Experience in analytical roles on complex enterprise projects and knowledge of insurance business processes.
Compensation and Benefits Zurich compensation is influenced by location, role, skill set, and experience. A nationwide market salary range is provided; geographic differentials may apply. Proposed salary range for this position is 85,500-140,000 with a 15% short-term incentive bonus eligibility.
