Travel Nurse Details

Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (Travel)

Location: Santa Barbara, CA 93110

Healthcare Setting: Operating Room (OR)

Assignment Type: Travel Nursing

Start Date: October 20, 2025

End Date: January 19, 2026

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (07:00 - 15:30)

Hours per Week: 40

Estimated Weekly Salary: $2490-$2670

Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics

Unit Details: 6 OR rooms, 22 beds, daily census of 40

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience required

Experience with conscious sedation required

Eye surgery (ophthalmic) experience highly desired

Active California RN license (must be valid at time of submission)

BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications (AHA accredited and in hand at submission)

Epic charting experience preferred

Available for lab work within 3-5 days of signing

Ability to complete required orientation modules (average 1-5 hours, completed during orientation)

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care for patients undergoing surgical procedures

Monitor patients during conscious sedation and respond to emergencies

Assist with a variety of surgical procedures: ophthalmic, orthopedic, gynecological, and general surgeries

Utilize Epic for charting and documentation

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including radiology and interpretation services

Maintain infection control and safety standards in the operating room

Participate in specimen handling, labeling, and universal protocol procedures

Support patient care for diverse age groups from pediatrics to geriatrics
