Genesis10 is seeking an Accountant for our financial services client in Wilmington, DE. This is a six-month contract possible contract to hire role requiring 4 days a week onsite, 1 day work from home.
Compensation: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour W2
Responsibilities
Deliver through effective, efficient Sarbanes-Oxley, regulatory compliant finance processes in accordance with local and consolidated GAAP.
Provide useable, accurate and timely financial information from transaction through financial close and external reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
Support a particular line of business, region, or accounting process for any Record to Report (R2R) activities from transaction to close, consolidation, and financial reporting of business outcomes.
Support end to end Record to Report accounting processes to transform data into information for reporting purposes.
Process basic general ledger events and financial transactions; identify and analyze exceptions; assist with audits, ad hoc requests, and special projects. Example: prepare and/or post journal entries to general ledger accounts and reconcile GL activity to ensure trial balance accuracy.
Perform reconciliations of accounts or financial data. May perform other activities such as basic accruals, posting adjustments, or other less complex accounting tasks. Participate in rotating assignments across lines of business, legal entities and geographies to build understanding of client requirements.
Requirements
3-6 years of total work experience.
Mutual Fund Accounting Experience.
Strong reconciliation skills.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to gather and analyze data efficiently.
Excellent multi-tasking abilities in a dynamic environment.
Flexibility to support market hours and some after-hours work, including weekends.
Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting/finance.
