Overview
The University of Louisville J.B. Speed School of Engineering is seeking full-time candidates for the position of Student Success Specialist IV for the Engineering Career Development and Cooperative Education office. This position is responsible for supporting the student experience in our office and providing career services to students for experiential learning and career success. The role facilitates the credit-bearing co-op and internship experience with academic departments and helps build and maintain relationships with employers. The position is expected to lead the undergraduate student co-op and internship process by planning and executing the co-op and internship seminar courses. Responsibilities
Facilitate the cooperative education process for assigned disciplines including student exploration and preparation, tracking and communication of co-op and internship placements, and management of the credit-bearing experience (eligibility, performance and grades). Maintain accurate data in the career services management system. Provide individual and group career coaching in assigned areas. Oversee the development of new academic programs and tracks that will allow students to develop a professional plan regarding their experiential learning requirements. Assist Employer Engagement Team with efforts to identify appropriate employers for these programs and tracks. Maintain accurate data in the career services management system. Coordinate administrative functions of the co-op program to ensure consistency of the student experience, augment seminar courses for combined engineering disciplines. Lead planning and execution of Co-op Seminar and Internship Seminar courses. Assist the Director in developing operations and programs that enhance our ability to meet the office’s educational mission. Serve as Director backup. Participate in research, professional development, and other scholarly activities to maintain current best practices. Assist the Career Development team in the organization and execution of career events, information sessions, and office programming. Other duties as assigned by the Director. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor\'s degree in a related field and six (6) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Grade 7 (Salaried) Preferred Qualifications
Master\'s degree in higher education or related field. Minimum of three years of related experience. Experience with using career services management platforms (Symplicity, Handshake, 12Twenty, GradLeaders) Experience with using educational learning management systems (Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle) Knowledge of engineering careers, trends, and marketplace Demonstrated knowledge of resume development, interviewing skills and professional conduct Experience in career services, particularly with engineering, project management, co-op advising, and teaching at the collegiate level Compensation and Benefits
Base pay range:
$59,655.00/yr - $89,483.00/yr Target Compensation Minimum:
$59,655.00 Target Compensation Maximum:
