Overview
The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology is seeking a highly motivated and trained Research Assistant Professor to join a dynamic research team focused on advancing cancer science, with an emphasis on the kidney cancer microenvironment. This non-tenure track position offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research, collaborate with leading scientists, and play a key role in laboratory operations and scientific discovery. Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in departmental and institutional service, including committee work and strategic initiatives. Contribute to graduate and medical education through teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development. Develop and lead an independent, externally funded research program in tobacco research. Publish impactful research in peer‑reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across the OSUCCC James, including basic scientists, clinicians, and translational researchers. Requirements
PhD or MD/PhD required Considerable post-doctoral experience in basic research required Considerable experience in oncology required Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in peer‑reviewed journals preferred Understanding of grant writing and obtaining funding in support of research required Experience with administration of funded research required Requires successful completion of a background check Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen Department/Division Overview
