Overview

Assistant/Associate Professor of Social Work — 12-month tenure-track faculty position in an innovative, traditional BSW program with a focus on evening courses. The position is at Johnson C. Smith University and reports to the Director of the BSW program. Responsibilities

Teach a full load of 12 credit hours per semester in the evening track of the BSW Program. Participate in student recruitment and advising, scholarship, and university/program governance. Teach across the curricula of the undergraduate program. Collaborate with the BSW Program Director to develop and implement evaluation and assessment related to student and program outcomes. Represent the Department of Social Work and the BSW Program on various committees and in BSW Program admission decisions. Maintain compliance with program competencies, policies, and procedures, as well as CSWE accreditation standards for practicum education. Qualifications

A doctorate is required in social work (PhD or DSW) or a related field. An MSW from a CSWE-accredited program is required. A minimum of two years post-MS W practice experience is required. Preferred candidates will hold a certification/license in social work. A minimum of two years of experience teaching in a CSWE-accredited program, with at least one year in an undergraduate program preferred. Knowledge of CSWE Accreditation Standards and process is preferred. Demonstrated record of highly successful teaching (including face-to-face, online, and hybrid), scholarship, and university service. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Documented ability to develop courses (face-to-face, hybrid, and online) and demonstrated competence with online pedagogies. Alignment with the mission of the Department of Social Work and Johnson C.
