Responsibilities
Produce hot and cold food in accordance with standardized recipes for the cafeteria, patient trayline, and catering needs.
Prepare soups, salads, entrees, gravies, side dishes, baked goods, desserts, and other items by cutting, slicing, dicing, measuring, and mixing as required.
Assemble meals, ensure quality and presentation, and use appropriate garnishes.
Operate and maintain safety of all food service equipment (mixers, slicers, vertical cutters, ovens, grills, steamers, fryers, food processors, etc.).
Coordinate production activities across multiple stations to meet quality, temperature, and presentation standards.
Prioritize Diabetic trays and trays that have been waiting longer; communicate with relevant staff to set up trays based on required preparation time.
Coordinate with the production team to support food preparation from assigned work areas (Grill, broiler, deli station, Fryer, stove top, Turbo Chef).
Avoid cross-contamination; store and identify all food products; record unusable or unsafe food and notify the supervisor.
Maintain sanitation and temperature controls in storage areas to meet HACCP standards.
Required Qualifications
Some High School required; Vocational or Technical training in Culinary Arts preferred.
Certificate: ServSafe preferred.
3-5 years related work experience required.
Basic math skills; familiarity with computers; ability to navigate basic web-based applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Three years food production experience in a high-volume food service establishment.

Customer Service: Provide high level of service with active listening and problem solving; remain calm under stress.
Physical and Health Requirements Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently. Standing and moving through the majority of the shift.
