Institute for Systems Biology (ISB)
Overview
The Ranish Group is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct research investigating how hematopoietic stem cells differentiate into mature red blood cells. The lab is developing mass spectrometry-based technology to quantify the transcription factor proteome in purified populations of differentiating erythroid cells. The data will be used to model the transcriptional regulatory networks underlying this process and guide future experiments to understand how specific transcription factors drive cell fate decisions. The successful applicant will design, execute, analyze, and troubleshoot experiments. Responsibilities
Development and application of mass spectrometry-based proteomics technologies Recombinant protein expression and purification Molecular biology and cell based assays Discuss and present research at internal meetings Manuscript preparation Design, execution, analysis, and troubleshooting of experiments Qualifications
PhD in analytical chemistry or biomedical sciences (i.e., molecular/cellular biology or biochemistry) Strong interest in mass spectrometry-based proteomics and gene regulation Ability to organize and prioritize work, work efficiently and independently Strong verbal and written communication skills Baseline technical skills and ability to communicate effectively over email and internal platforms; ability to use Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint at a functional level Benefits
Benefits: https://isbscience.org/careers/benefits/ Salary
Postdoctoral Fellows are paid on a scale depending on experience - $77,969 - $95,787 Equal Opportunity
ISB is a D/V/EOE. ISB is an EOE (M/F/veteran/disability status)
