Consistently and sufficiently meet Lawry’s standards, providing quality and professionalism; conduct yourself in accordance with Lawry’s Code of Ethics. Comply with all Lawry’s employment-related policies and procedures; include accurate records of hours worked, breaks, shift changes, tardiness or absence; behavior consistent with maintaining a workplace free of harassment, discrimination, drug or alcohol abuse. Respect and maintain Company property and assets. Adhere to Lawry’s Carvery uniform and appearance standards. Maintain proper food handling and sanitation standards. Demonstrate safe work habits, particularly in relation to knife handling. Maintain a safe workplace by keeping work and dining areas clean and free of debris and hazards. Prepare for the station and set it up appropriately; cook food as ordered and to the appropriate temperature. Work closely with the Chef/Sous Chef to prepare specialty items for daily business. Read computer ordered checks and relay orders to other cooks; time food to come up with orders so items on the same table are ready together. Clean the entire line at the end of the evening; wrap and store food properly; count food items and track them on production sheets. Prepare condiments, salads, dressings, sauces, side dishes, desserts, and other menu items according to Company recipes. Operate all cooking and preparation equipment safely per manufacturer directions. Unpack, inspect, store and rotate food items in accordance with FIFO procedures. Keeps tools, cutlery, machines, and cooking equipment in good working order. Operate ordering systems efficiently and work quickly to expedite guest orders. Contribute to meeting unit food cost goals through portion and waste control. Assist co-workers and other departments as needed to ensure guest satisfaction. Demonstrate knowledge of Lawry’s Restaurants, including history, locations, service and meal hours, and diner benefits. Demonstrate effective teamwork and cooperation with co-workers, management, vendors, and suppliers. Wear a clean uniform and appropriate footwear; be available for scheduled shifts and comply with approved shift changes if authorized. Occasionally assume other co-worker’s duties during off-peak hours when staff is reduced; attend mandatory meetings, training, and briefings. Report damaged or malfunctioning fixtures and equipment promptly; report accidents or unsafe conditions immediately. Position Qualifications
Shows confidence, energy, and enthusiasm with a professional, clean appearance and a friendly, helpful demeanor. Satisfactory health to perform job duties and work with the public within food service health and safety regulations. Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation; able to stand and walk for up to eight hours; able to lift up to 100 lbs and exert up to 150 lbs. Able to work all scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays. Capable of communicating in English; basic math proficiency. Able to follow instructions, listen, and follow basic recipes. Must have reliable transportation; able to wear required uniform. Experience
At least one (1) year of previous experience as a Line Cook in a high-end dining establishment is required. Must be able to read scales. Licenses/Certifications
Current Local/State Food Handler’s Training Certifications as required. Computer Skills
Basic familiarity with computers and calculators. Education
High school diploma or GED preferred. Some college or culinary education is beneficial. Salary Range: $17-$23/hour
