Position Type and Research Focus Tenure-track assistant professor position in the general research area of neurodevelopment. This search is part of a multi-year strategic plan to expand neurodevelopment research at MUSC. Topics of interest include mechanisms of nervous system development, therapeutic strategies for neurodevelopmental disorders, and principles of brain circuit development and plasticity. Applicants may use human and non-human models and/or computational approaches. Applicants should have a PhD and/or MD with appropriate research expertise and are expected to possess an outstanding record of high-quality publications and a strong potential to secure extramural research funding.
Responsibilities and Environment Successful candidates will benefit from a competitive start-up package in a highly ranked neuroscience department with a strong commitment to faculty mentoring and collegiality. The department includes a robust PhD graduate program, NIH-funded T32 training grants for pre- and postdoctoral scholars, and NIH-funded Centers, including a COBRE in Neurodevelopment and its Disorders.
