Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in Innovation (Open Rank) Position Type: Tenure Stream • Tenure, Tenure Track • 9 month non-leave faculty appointment. Open date: 08/07/2025. Open Until Filled: Yes. FTE: 1.000. Location: Greensboro, NC (UNC Greensboro). Location and institutional context: The Department of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality & Tourism (MEHT) in the Bryan School of Business and Economics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications for a tenure/tenure-track faculty position in Innovation, commencing August 1, 2026, at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, contingent upon qualifications. This is not a remote work position and selected candidates must reside in North Carolina or within a reasonable commuting distance. Primary responsibilities
Teach via face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats; online teaching is a requirement and experience/interest in online instruction will be considered. Conduct research in innovation leading to publications in high-quality journals (e.g., FT 50 and CABS/AJG 4* and other elite outlets) and maintain a productive record of scholarly output. Engage in professional, university, school, and department/program service. Areas of teaching coverage
We are seeking teaching coverage in: innovation, innovation strategy, and principles of innovation. Minimum qualifications
A PhD from an AACSB or EQUIS accredited business school in Innovation. Alternatively, a PhD in related disciplines (e.g., Marketing, Entrepreneurship, or Management) with a concentration in Innovation or demonstrated teaching/research in Innovation. For appointment to Assistant Professor: ABD candidates may be considered if they expect to complete their PhD by August 1, 2026. For appointment to Associate or Full Professor: a strong record of published research on innovation topics in elite and premier journals; an adequate scholarly record to be appointed with tenure. Preferred qualifications
Ability to align teaching and research with mission elements such as problem solving, innovation, globalization, sustainability, and ethics. Related business experience and experiential teaching through student projects are positively viewed but not required. Tenure status
