Environmental Project Manager with WSP in the U.S. for the South Jordan, UT team. WSP has a career opportunity for an Environmental Project Manager with a strong track record in team management, business development, client service management, and project management to lead and grow the environmental team in South Jordan, Utah. The role offers collaboration with environmental leads across the Mountain Pacific Region and the U.S. WSP’s Utah operation provides a broad range of services in engineering and environmental sciences including environmental site assessment and remediation, water resources, environmental planning, compliance and permitting, geotechnical design, and transportation design. The successful candidate will have experience in consulting, selling, managing and implementing environmental projects in Government, Industrial/Commercial, Mining, Oil & Gas, Energy and Transportation sectors. Your Impact Manage staff and project teams for environmental projects including oversight of subcontractors and sampling of soil, soil vapor, sediment, surface water and groundwater in accordance with state and Federal regulations and generally accepted protocols. Manage environmental projects involving site characterization, remedial design, and environmental compliance, ensuring deliverables, schedules and budgets are achieved. Develop and maintain communication channels with key clients, stakeholders, and internal personnel to ensure smooth work flow and provide first-class consultancy services. Business development to identify and develop new clients for the environmental business, including networking inside and outside WSP. Provide technical review for projects to ensure compliance with environmental laws, company standards, contract requirements and related specifications. Willingness to travel to project sites primarily in Utah and occasionally across the mountain states of the West; minimal overnight travel. Mentoring and training junior staff. Collaborate and participate in technical discussions with team members. Manage proposal preparation including innovative technical approaches and competitive pricing; prepare and perform client presentations. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Who You Are B.S. or M.S. degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or related fields. PG or PE in the state of Utah desired. 10+ years of experience with increasing responsibility. Strong background providing environmental consulting services to clients in Government, Industrial/Commercial, Mining, Oil & Gas, Energy and Transportation sectors. Demonstrated scientific or engineering expertise with Federal, State and Local environmental regulations; experience with field investigations, environmental site assessments, site remediation, field management, sampling, etc. Project Management experience including deliverables, schedules and budgets. Self-starter, team oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Business development experience and ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships; experience in proposal preparation. Excellent computer skills including proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to travel to project sites primarily in Utah and occasionally across the mountain states of the West. Minimal overnight travel. Must pass background check and have a valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record per company policy.
