The Reinsurance Assistant Actuary leads, coordinates, or performs complex analysis for the full range of actuarial activities related to Reinsurance pricing for a line of business (LOB). You will lead, coordinate, or build complex models and projections to enable the business to generate consistent and sound prices. You will build models for reinsurance and serve as a subject matter expert and consultant to business partners throughout the organization. You will present findings and recommendations regarding the development or effectiveness of various strategies. You will report to the Director, Actuary.
If located within 50 miles of one of our core locations (35 miles in Boston), you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from one of the following office locations: Madison, WI 53783; Boston, MA 02110; Denver, CO 80112; Eden Prairie, MN 55343; Keene, NH 03431; St. Joseph, MO 64507; Phoenix, AZ 85034.

Primary Accountabilities
Develop relationships with core business partners and provide insights and solutions to address specific business concerns. Explore new concepts, statistical models, and data sources to deliver innovative solutions for the business. Contribute to all aspects of pricing and may own the recurring process. Facilitate the pricing strategy. Assist with the development of pricing for new products. Monitor industry and competitor trends to determine potential impact on actuarial strategies and solutions. Analyze the profitability of assumed property & casualty treaty reinsurance opportunities. Maintain a portfolio analytics framework, ensuring consistent analytical standards for evaluating assumed reinsurance opportunities. Create a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by facilitating and fostering trust, transparency, and inclusion. Mentor and develop team members. Collaborate with Underwriting to provide input on potential deals. Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Education Requirements
Associate or Fellow in Casualty Actuary Society (ACAS or FCAS). Demonstrated experience analyzing assumed reinsurance treaties. Solid knowledge and understanding of complex insurance and reinsurance structures. Solid knowledge and understanding of property and casualty products, pricing, rates, and industry trends. Solid knowledge and understanding of the global reinsurance industry, its market, regulatory constraints, judicial climate, and consumer activism. Solid knowledge of catastrophe models such as RMS and AIR, among others. Experience with Excel, SQL, Python, and basic programming. Advanced financial and statistical analysis techniques including actuarial techniques. Knowledge of data models and database design and development concepts. Experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service. #LI-Remote Additional Information
