Job Opportunity: Transfusion Medicine Physician at Columbia University Irving Medical Center The Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) is recruiting for an MD or MD/PhD academic transfusion medicine physician of any rank to join our faculty in the Division of Transfusion Medicine and Stem Cell Therapy. This division provides state-of-the-art care to our adult and pediatric patient populations, including blood banking, therapeutic apheresis, cell therapy collections, and a cGMP cellular therapy laboratory.

Applicants should have an established record of achievement in their field, with particular interest in apheresis, cellular collections, and cellular therapy clinical trials encouraged. Candidates must have appropriate training and certification in transfusion medicine from the American Board of Pathology or an equivalent accrediting organization, along with scholarly accomplishments. We also value candidates whose research, teaching, or service demonstrates a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Work Environment The Blood Bank, apheresis unit, and Cellular Therapy Laboratory are located at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/CUIMC in Washington Heights, NYC. The facilities perform approximately 30,000 red blood cell units, 1,500 apheresis procedures, and 160 cellular therapy collections annually. Accredited by CAP, AABB, and NYS Department of Health, the laboratory offers a vibrant, diverse environment with access to cultural and recreational amenities.

Compensation Hiring Salary Range: $195,000 to $370,000

Assistant Professor at CUMC: $195,000 to $265,000

Non-Tenured Assistant Professor: $195,000 to $265,000

Associate Professor at CUMC: $235,000 to $325,000

Non-Tenured Associate Professor: $235,000 to $325,000

Professor at CUMC: $260,000 to $370,000

Tenured Professor: $260,000 to $370,000

Qualifications M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. with appropriate training and certification in transfusion medicine from the American Board of Pathology or an equivalent organization, along with scholarly achievements.
