Overview The Asset Protection Specialist at The Home Depot is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance in their assigned store(s). They utilize tools to minimize loss to the Company, including identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring the store's physical security, auditing Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS), and driving a shrink-elimination culture in the store.

Key responsibilities include documenting apprehensions and recoveries with accurate case reports, preserving evidence, interacting with law enforcement, and testifying in criminal and civil court actions. The Asset Protection Specialist must report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and perform duties in a way that minimizes risk of injury to themselves, associates, vendors, customers, and the Company. They must demonstrate integrity at all times, respond to asset-protection and operational concerns of all associates, and stay focused on store-specific business objectives while supporting asset protection and operational priorities.

Responsibilities

Prevent financial loss caused by theft and fraud in the assigned store(s).

Identify incidents of theft and fraud; review CCTV and exception reports; monitor the store's physical security; audit Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS).

Prepare accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries; preserve evidence; interact with law enforcement; testify in criminal and civil court actions as needed.

Report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and carry out safety practices to minimize risk of injury to associates, vendors, customers, and the Company.

Maintain integrity and respond to asset-protection and operational concerns while supporting store objectives.

Qualifications

Ability to prepare accurate case reports and preserve evidence.
