Overview
The Department of Economics in the Sam M Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas invites applications for an open rank tenured or tenure-track position (based on credentials) in macroeconomics beginning August 10, 2026. We look to complement the department’s strength in labor, international trade, urban, and development economics. Regular on-campus availability, in-person teaching, and active contribution to the life of the department, including exhibiting respect and cooperation in shared academic and administrative tasks.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Economics with an emphasis in macroeconomics, to be conferred by the start of employment
Potential to produce high quality research in leading journals and secure external research funding
Commitment to high quality teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels
Preferred Qualifications: Background in large scale macro models and empirical applications using microeconomic datasets and estimation techniques
Background in dynamic general equilibrium models, causal inference and computational methods
Research focus that overlaps with one or more of the following fields: labor economics, international trade and finance, urban and development economics. These areas complement the current faculty's teaching and research interests.
