Open rank Assistant to Associate Professor of Surgery - Liver, Kidney and Pancreas Pediatric Transplant Surgeon. The Division of Transplant Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine seeks a full-time, board-eligible, fellowship-trained transplant surgeon with expertise in both pediatric and adult liver, kidney and pancreas transplantation. The majority of this role is dedicated to pediatric abdominal solid organ transplantation. Robotic experience in renal and liver procedures is preferred. This is a one-year appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Primary responsibilities will be at the University of Colorado School of Medicine as well as nearby Children’s Hospital Colorado and University of Colorado Hospital. Duties include participation in both pediatric and adult kidney, liver and pancreas transplantation, robotic and living donor transplant procedures, as well as other major liver surgeries, organ recovery and dialysis access surgery. Additional activities include clinical care, immunosuppression management, surgical rounds, transplant selection committees and educational conferences. The individual will be expected to actively participate in clinical research related to transplantation and will contribute to academic activities including teaching medical students, residents, fellows and related service duties. Other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate. Key Responsibilities

Supervision Received: The surgeon reports to the Division Chief. Supervision Exercised: The surgeon will provide direct clinical instruction to Advanced Practice Professionals, fellows, residents and nurses. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below. Assistant Professor

1-6 years of experience Medical Degree from an accredited School of Medicine Completion of transplant fellowship in liver, kidney and pancreas at an accredited Transplant Center Eligibility for Board Certification – must complete boards within 2 years Involved in clinical and translational research Associate Professor

6-10 years of experience Medical Degree from an accredited School of Medicine Completion of transplant fellowship in liver, kidney and pancreas at an accredited Transplant Center Eligibility for Board Certification – must complete boards within 2 years Involved in clinical and translational research Preferred Qualifications (Both Ranks)

Experience with pediatric and adult transplants Experience with robotic renal and liver procedures Experience with DCD organ recovery Experience in Organ Ox (or other machine perfusion) Experience with normothermic regional perfusion Experience with live donor liver transplant How to Apply

Anticipated Pay Range: The starting salary range (or hiring range) has been established as: Assistant Professor - $300,000 - 380,000, plus productivity incentives where eligible. Associate Professor - $350,000 - $450,000, plus productivity incentives where eligible. The above salary range represents the University’s good faith estimate at time of posting.
