Summary
The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely reconciliation of bank reconciliations, coding of certain invoices and transactions, and assisting with the fixed asset accounting for the Freeman Companies. In addition, the staff accountant assists in the month-end close process and prepares monthly journal entries and other account reconciliations.
This position will support our Finance team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week. This position is based out of our North Dallas office in Dallas, TX.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform the bank reconciliations of cash and credit card receivable accounts
Communicate internally bank corrections to respective departments
Assist in the fixed asset administration and accounting processes
Work with external vendor to perform all escheatment activities
Assist the month-end close process including preparation of accrual JE’s and posting of journal entries and preparing certain account reconciliations as assigned
Prepares audit schedules and assists with analysis during the annual audit
Performs other duties as assigned
Education & Experience Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4 year college or university with a concentration in accounting, finance and/or business administration is required
Minimum 3 years of experience working as an accountant
Experience working with foreign currencies a plus
Must have strong excel skills
SAP and Hyperion experience a plus
