Position Summary The Scientist in the Multiomics Group, within Discovery Technologies, will join a dynamic group focused on executing experiments at the cutting edge of pharmaceutical sciences. This scientist will work closely with the Molecular Characterization and Discovery Proteomics teams to design studies, execute analyses, and interpret data to support the various research programs for identified targets. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise with various innovative, high-throughput, high-content molecular platforms profiling protein, DNA and RNA along with basic molecular biology techniques. The role drives breakthrough research using cutting-edge high-throughput protein platforms, leading large-scale protein profiling studies from biomarker discovery through clinical validation. The incumbent is encouraged to develop their own ideas and contribute them to the broader group, and will collaborate across the organization to execute on research programs. The role offers the opportunity to build industry-leading workflows that generate transformative proteomic insights supporting foundational research and translational medicine.
Responsibilities
Interact and collaborate with various discovery technologies functional teams to develop and implement high content and high throughput proteomic platforms
Design and execute studies using protein platforms like Olink, Somalogic, Milliplex, Quanterix, etc. for biomarker discovery and mechanistic investigations
Develop scalable workflows for multiplex protein profiling across diverse sample types (plasma, serum, CSF, tissue lysates)
Stay current on cutting edge technologies and work with the proteomics team to validate and implement new platforms as needed
Install, maintain, operate, and optimize platform instrumentation while ensuring peak performance and data quality
Innovate sample preparation protocols tailored to platform-specific chemistry and biological matrix requirements
Lead data analysis initiatives using advanced statistical methods, platform-specific tools, and machine learning approaches
Drive cross-functional collaboration with cell biology, immunology, computational biology, and clinical research teams
Generate actionable insights through comprehensive technical reporting and data visualization
Champion scientific excellence by staying at the forefront of proteomics technology advances and ultra-sensitive detection methods
Maintain rigorous standards for laboratory safety, regulatory compliance, and data integrity
Establish protocol QC methods and standards to ensure quality data and analyses from various high throughput, high-content genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic platforms
Establish and update lab SOPs and train lab scientists as needed
Collaborate with the molecular characterization team to ensure instrumentation is properly maintained and calibrated
Proper documentation and archiving of data and analyses
Basic Requirements
Master's degree (with 2-3 years’ experience) or Bachelor's degree (with 5+ years’) in Biochemistry, Proteomics, Immunology, Cell Biology, or related field
Hands-on expertise with Olink or Somalogic platforms, including end-to-end study management from design through analysis is strongly preferred
Broad experience with multiple protein analysis platforms, including assay design and development
Experience with high content, high throughput laboratory workflows with emphasis on quality and efficiency
Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively across scientific disciplines to meet project goals and timelines
Proven track record in interpreting complex biological data and translating findings into actionable research directions
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to experimental detail
Additional Preferences
Proficiency in R or Python for large-scale omics data analysis and visualization
Hands-on experience and understanding of mass spectrometry-based proteomic workflows
Experience developing and validating complementary immunoassays (ELISA, MSD, Jess)
Expertise in pathway analysis and network biology for systems-level insights
Knowledge of spatial proteomics methods and advanced tissue imaging techniques
Machine learning experience for biomarker signature development and validation
Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals featuring high-plex proteomics applications
Experience with clinical sample management and biobanking best practices

Actual compensation will depend on education, experience, skills, and location. The anticipated wage for this position is $84,000 - $179,300. Full-time employees are eligible for a company bonus and a comprehensive benefits program including 401(k), medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and wellness benefits.
