Pay
Base pay range: $30.00/hr. Pay for routed drivers is $30 per hour. Paid training for routed drivers is $30 per hour. This range is provided by National Express LTD; actual pay will be based on skills and experience. Learn more from your recruiter.

Responsibilities Provides safe and reliable transportation service by operating a school bus or other location-specific vehicle with a fixed or changing route.
Exhibits high ethical standards and personal integrity; reports concerns about suspicious or inappropriate behavior to supervisor.
Reports to duty on time and maintains the route on time, safely.
Physically assists passengers in evacuation of the vehicle in case of emergency.
Immediately reports any accident or incident per Company policy.
Follows Company policies around student and/or passenger management.
Completes required paperwork (route change sheets, time cards, vehicle repair requests) and submits in a timely manner.
Maintains a cooperative attitude with colleagues, supervisors, customers, and passengers while promoting company goodwill.
Safely and efficiently uses vehicle equipment, including wheelchair lifts, radios, and emergency equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
Additional responsibilities may apply for Paratransit Drivers per location.
Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age; for Tennessee School Bus Drivers, at least 25 years old per state law.
Must possess or be able to obtain all valid applicable state licenses and required certifications to operate company vehicles.
Must meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening; safety-sensitive position with random screening per policy.
Must satisfactorily complete and pass all training.
Must practice defensive driving and maintain safe driving and work habits.
Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and contract-specific Driver requirements.

Additional information
All interested applicants for a Driver position begin as a Driver in Training. The Driver in Training will be trained to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and related endorsements, and to learn company policies and procedures. Upon successful completion, the Driver in Training will be placed in a Professional Driver role. Referrals can increase interview chances.
